About JANDA Bend Farms |
|
JANDA Bend Farms was established on 160 acres in the foothills of the Ozarks in 2000. We spent a year getting the farm in shape and learning as much as we could about planting Christmas trees from the Oklahoma Christmas Tree Association. In the spring of 2001 we planted 350 Virginia Pines. Each tree was originally watered by hand until a solar powered well and irrigation system was developed in 2002. We lost quite a few trees that first year, but we were fulfilling a life-long dream and were unwilling to give-up. Each year’s planting has improved with our improved know-how. Today we have approximately 4,000 future Christmas trees in various stages of growth and of different varieties, including Virginia Pine and Leyland Cypress. We have even been part of a Christmas tree study being conducted by Oklahoma State University on a possible new type of Christmas tree for Oklahoma. |

We open Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 10 am - 5 pm and then will be open each following Friday 2- 5 pm, Saturday 10 am-5 pm and Sunday 1- 5 pm through December 24. |
